Marisa M. Oliveira

Marisa studied Biomedical Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, Portugal, followed by a PhD in Developmental Biology at the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência in Portugal. She then moved to Switzerland to work as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Zurich, where she contributed to the Swiss initiative SystemsX.ch within the framework of the MorphogenetiX project, focusing on tissue morphogenesis and the three-dimensional shapes of cells.

Marisa joined the IT’IS Foundation as Scientific Coordinator in January 2020. In this role, she supports the planning and execution of research projects, coordinates funding applications and reporting activities, and facilitates communication among internal teams, external collaborators, and funding agencies.
