PhD Student
Chiara Billi was born in Tuscany, Italy. She joined Z43 in March 2026 as a PhD student.
Chiara earned her Bachelor in Bioengineering from the University of Pavia and graduated from the Neuro-X program at EPFL, Switzerland, with a thesis on Mean Field models of the Basal Ganglia-Thalamo-Cortical loop.
Her research focuses on personalized models to guide TI stimulation, with a particular focus on stroke applications. She is mostly interested in both bottom-up approaches, including tractography-constrained neural mass models and EM modeling of EEG. She contributed to the development of BraiNN, a framework for accelerated whole-brain network modeling.
