Manuel Murbach was born in St.Gallen, Switzerland, in summer 1979.
In late 2004, he received his Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering at the Swiss Federal Technical Institute in Zurich (ETH).
After finishing his Master of Advanced Studies in Secondary and Higher Education (MAS SHE, “Höheres Lehramt”) in 2005, he taught at gymnasiums in and around Zurich.
He joined the IT'IS Foundation in February 2007, where he worked towards his PhD degree after his candidacy in 2008. After completion of his PhD thesis in 2013, he inow continues to work as a project leader with a focus on MRI safety and electromagnetic field exposure systems. On MRI safety, his main areas of research cover modeling of realistic exposure scenarios in RF shimming and pTx, including thermal evaluations with human thermoregulation. The development and manufacture of RF and ELF exposure systems fosters innovative research on EMF effects on biological cells and human volunteers.
