Application / Test Engineer – Active Implant Compatibility with MR Examinations

IT’IS, together with its partner organizations Schmid & Partner Engineering AG (SPEAG) and ZMT Zurich MedTech AG (ZMT), forms the Zurich43 alliance. Z43’s dedicated mission is to expand the knowledge and technology for the (i) characterization, optimization, and application of the electromagnetic (EM) near-field and (ii) predictive modelling of interactions between physical agents and physiology in complex anatomies.

Your challenges:

  • Experimental characterization of medical implant responses to radiofrequency (RF) and gradient fields with our benchtop magnetic resonance imaging testing systems and cutting-edge near-field measurement tools
  • Use of ZMT’s Sim4Life platform to simulate responses of active and passive implants to external EM sources
  • Technical support for global customers of ZMT hardware and software, including on-site visits
  • Support of our hardware and software teams to develop and improve the next generation of Z43’s products and services
  • Participation in exhibitions and scientific conferences

Your strengths:

  • University or technical college degree (Bachelor or Master) in electrical engineering or physics or several years of experience in RF test labs
  • Experience with minimum one of the following: RF measurement equipment, FDTD simulations, antennas/RF theory, electromagnetic compatibility
  • Strong sense of responsibility and highest quality standard of work
  • Self-motivation, good organizational and communication skills, impeccable attention to detail, friendly personality and team-spirit, sensitivity to customer needs, and ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, work independently in a fast-paced environment, and to meet tight deadlines
  • Good to excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken), ability to communicate in German a plus
