Press Conference: National Research Programme "Non-Ionising Radiation – Health and Environment" (NRP 57)

The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) organized a national press conference on May 12, 2011, to present the results of the National Research Programme “Non-Ionising Radiation – Health and Environment” (NRP 57) to the general public.

 

The 4-year research initiative was completed last year. The results confirmed the results from the REFLEX studies that ELF may affect DNA integrity in human cells and reinforced evidence for effects of EMF exposure on sleep EEG. NFP57 also answered the open questions of cumulative exposure to the CNS, and fetus, marking it as one of the most productive national EMF projects. The program was also praised by the responsible public offices for public health and for environment.
