2023 BioEM Short Term Mission Project at IT'IS Awarded to Michelle Fang

Michelle Fang of Auden Techno. Corp., Taiwan, is the recipient of a BioEM Society Short Term Mission (STM) award to pursue research at the IT'IS Foundation. The title of her project is Personalized Head Models for Surgery and Temporal Interference Stimulation Planning.

Michelle's research goals are to determine the scientific need for and benefits of personalized head models for robot-assisted radiofrequency ablation (ROSA) and temporal interference (TI) stimulation planning applications. During her 1 month research stay at IT’IS, she will be trained in the use of the hardware and software of our TI Planning Tool that will be needed for her upcoming doctoral research at Cheng Gung Memorial Hospital, Taiwan. She will also gain skills in Python programming in ZMT's Sim4Life Desktop and Web environments and contribute to automated segmentation research based on artificial intelligence.

The BioEM Society funds the STM mobility awards to help students and early stage researchers travel to host institutions to learn techniques, access data, and gain experience with methods and instruments not available in their home institutions.

Congratulations Michelle, and welcome to IT'IS!
