Implant Safety Evaluation at IT'IS – Episode II: Model Validation using Test Field Diversity

Validation of the SAIMD-U models from Episode I is demonstrated with the Test Field Diversity method, which tests the model under diverse incident conditions with only minimal remounting of the device.

Today, we have published Episode II of our Implant Safety video series, explaining how we validate our model of the radiofrequency (RF) response of active implantable medical devices (AIMD) to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exposure. In Episode I, we derived these models for both heating and voltage response of the SAIMD-U validation device from ZMT Zurich MedTech AG. This new episode demonstrates the Test Field Diversity method, which lets us test the implant model under a wide range of verified incident field conditions without physically remounting the lead each time.
