IT’IS Foundation at the 2017 International Wireless Certification Conference and CTTL Forum-International Certification Sub-Forum, Shanghai CN, November 28 – 29, 2017

Prof. Niels Kuster, founding director of the IT’IS Foundation, was an invited speaker at the 2017 International Wireless Certification Conference and CTTL Forum-International Certification Sub-Forum, held November 28 – 29, 2017 in Shanghai, China. The conference, organized by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) in conjunction with the American Certification Body, Inc. (ACB), was attended by about 200 representatives from industry and regulatory agencies. The focus of the conference was on the challenges faced by the wireless industry in response to the many changes in the certification rules and regulations of, e.g., the USA’s Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Canada’s Innovation Science and Economic Development (ISED), and the European Union’s Radio Equipment Directive (RED). Topics related to the internet of things (IoT) for wireless and wired devices were especially featured.

Prof. Kuster delivered a presentation entitled “New Requirements and New Solutions for Compliance Testing of Wireless Devices Operating between 4 MHz to 110 GHz” on the science and technologies developed by the IT’IS Foundation – in collaboration with their R&D partner SPEAG – to meet the stringent requirements of the new standards and guidelines.
