Z43 partner Auden Technology Corporation hosted the Auden Group Seminar on the integration of next-generation electromagnetic technologies in biomedical applications in Taipei, Taiwan July 6, 2017. Prof. Niels Kuster, Director of the IT’IS Foundation, was invited as a keynote speaker to talk about “Novel Electromagnetic System for Demonstration of Compliance of 5G Millimeter Wave Near-Field Sources with Safety Guidelines”. Furthermore, Erdem Ofli, Product Head at ZMT Zurich MedTech AG, gave a presentation on “Simulation Platform and Validated Hardware Solutions for Active Implant MRI Safety Assessment According to ISO/TS10974” at the seminar.
Auden, a driving force in information and communication technologies in Taiwan, organized the seminar for the Auden Group and others to promote emerging developments at the crossroads of electromagnetic technology and biomedical advances. 5th generation (5G) communications technologies offer higher speeds, lower latency, and higher capacity than 4G LTE generation solutions, but present challenges to the industry to develop novel components with reduced power consumption for high-quality performance at competitive costs. The rise of the Internet of Things (IoT) as a key transmission media in communications was also a featured topic of the seminar. With more than 200 participants, the seminar served as a platform for interesting discussions, practical demonstrations, and exploration of recent technological advances, as well as for brain-storming accurate market forecasting issues. For Z43, it was an opportunity to demonstrate our 5G readiness and to stay up-to-date with the progress of other players.
